My work is inspired by fairy tales, children's books, characters from Norwegian folklore and everyday life. I use the symbols, colours and layers to create my own fairy tale, to create my own world. I make multilayered jewellery from anodised aluminium, silver, wood and gilding metal. I often use ready mades as part of the piece. My fairy tales have an ambiguity; they can have two sides, or more. I want to ask more questions then I give answers. The pieces are big, but not heavy. They are made to be worn, but can just as easily be seen as wall pieces. The size means that I want the person wearing the jewellery to be aware of it and take it into consideration at all times.
My work is like a stage, where animals, people and nature create a colourful fairy tale world
